Quarter 1, 2025
I stepped into 2025 with more clarity than I think I’ve felt in my entire 27 years of life. This is officially year 3 of working for myself, and leaning into the creativity and courage that it takes to be an entrepreneur. It has not been easy but holy moly it has been fulfilling. I think the clarity exists from the consistency and repetition I have put into building the foundation of Sea Coaching — including every fumble, fall and failure along the way.
Like many, I start the new year by setting goals for myself, while also reflecting on what goals I had set out last year and achieved. What fed into the clarity I had at the start of this year was the truth that I actually follow through on my goals… unlike a younger version of myself… I have finally built the discipline and drive to make it all happen.
I like to break my goal setting into these categories: business, health, relationships, and adventure. To me, these feel like four pillars that make life feel purposeful, enjoyable and impactful. I’ll share some of my goals because I think it’s important to speak them into existence and I’d love to come back to this post next year as a tangible place of reflection.
Also, maybe it will spark some inspiration inside of you for what’s possible :)
Aside from health coaching, a big one for me in my business is hosting events — humankind came to fruition last year and has already snowballed as a reality. I wanted to put on 4 large events this year that are different but all have a similar intention: connection, collaboration and community.
January was where I started to brainstorm, and by February we put on Paws For a Cause; a collaborative event with The Calgary Humane Society and YYC Run Crew. This event was my first time speaking in front of an audience of 55+ people on my mental health story, and how I continue to push through and show up. Because of the level of impact this event created for mental health awareness and fundraising for CHS, we are doing another one on May 24th 2025! (and more coming in 2025 — join my mailing list for future events here).
This has been one of my highlights of 2025 so far. Bringing this to life was a dream!

A health goal for me this year was to run a marathon — which I signed up for, and started training for in January. I did a 1/2 marathon last year, and it felt like the natural step to take to go to the next level. To stick with this category of health — my physical and hormonal health ended up taking priority over this goal. By the end of March, I realized that running a marathon wasn’t in the cards for me, and training for it was doing more harm to my body than good. As someone with a mindset that is determined to achieve whatever she sets out to do, this wasn’t any easy decision to make, but I know it’s for the best. I feel grateful that I have the autonomy over my body to make decisions like this, and ultimately choose health at the end of the day!
I’m still very excited to be on the sidelines cheering on all of those who are running the Servus Calgary Marathon this year, and anticipate running one of my own in the future when my body is in a place to handle that level of intensity.

Relationship goals are some of my favourite ones to set. Growing up, I always felt like a bit of an outcast and like I didn’t really know where I fit within friendships. As I’ve become clearer on who I am, I’ve started to attract some pretty interesting people into my life (aka, friends who match my weird). For the first time in my life, I can say that my friendships are some of the deepest, realest, rawest ones I’ve ever had. I’m blessed to be surrounded by a community of like-minded friends who also prioritize their health, just as much as they prioritize play. My goal with my relationships was and will continue to be: presence, having uncomfortable conversations when necessary, and valuing each others time. There’s nothing quite like building your chosen family as a young adult, and if I can give any unsolicited advice it would be to nurture the heck out of your relationships. You aren’t doing this life thing alone, so lean into your people and if you don’t have people… lean into finding those people. humankind events are a great place to find them ;)

Now Adventure. I’d be lying if I said this one came easy to me (in previous years, this consumed most of my life — before reality of adulthood set in). I’m similar to you reading this where I often get caught up in the ‘grind’ of making a living and setting myself up for my future. There isn’t anything wrong with creating a foundation for your future, but I believe it’s equally as important to enjoy life along the way. Have you heard the quote: “Don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life”? This comes up on repeat in my head whenever I realize I haven’t gotten into nature in a while.
Adventure to me is doing something outside of the usual pattern of life — whether this is trying somewhere new in my city, exploring a new hike in the mountains, or booking a trip somewhere far away. My goal with adventure is to make sure I incorporate it and prioritize. Atleast once per month. I schedule it into my calendar just as I would schedule a consult call with a new coaching client, a coffee meeting, or my meal prep. Coming up for me is a trip to Hawaii; a place that my soul always wanders back to.

I can’t wait to share pieces of that trip with you guys :)
Now to really reflect on Quarter 1, my biggest takeaway has been this:
Life a Life of Willful Surrender.
Will: Just do it. Make it happen. Create it.
Surrender: Let go. Accept What it. Trust it.
Both of these things are necessary, and will forever continue to be in this human experience.
If you have a goal, put in the work required to bring it to life. Reach out to the people you need to. Tell people about it. Envision exactly what it will look like. Then once you do that work — trust that what’s meant for you will come to life. Let go of the result. Accept what shows up.
The last 3 months have been waves of making it happen and letting it happen, and although some of those waves were high and challenging, they ultimately continued to lead me to exactly where I am meant to be — and I believe the same for you.
If you are looking for support in your journey, lets start by talking about some of your health goals. I work with clients from goals surrounds fitness, nutrition, life and mindset.
I would love if you shared this post with a friend who might take a piece of wisdom from it.
